BIL
BIL is an ad-hoc conference for people changing the world in big ways. Although not formally affiliated with TED, it just so happens that it’s located in the same city (Long Beach, CA) and it takes place immediately afterword (February 7th and 8th, 2009). BIL is a place for people passionate about sharing big ideas to come together to energize, brainstorm, and take action. The event is self-organizing, emergent, and anarchic. Nobody is in charge; rather, you are in charge. If you want to come, just show up. If you’ve got an idea to spread, start talking. If someone is saying something interesting, stop and listen. Ideas and proposals for talks at BIL are already being crowdsourced today on a site powered by The Social Collective, so why not stop by right now and check it out?
